Time to start filling the form in

The contract to enable the programme to get underway will be signed very soon.

We have (subject to the contract being completed) appointed a Project Officer who will be in post in a matter of weeks.

We will therefore be in a position to start assessing and approving projects very soon.

To help the process along, if you are thinking of applying for funding under LEADER, fill in an Expression of Interest form (download from the link on the left) & send it to jpooler@worcestershire.gov.uk

TransNational Opportunities

I get sent request from people involved with LEADER elsewhere in Europe for partners for transnational projects. Most don't fit with what we're about as Advantage West Midlands have decided that LEADER is used to deliver the community/social aspects of the Rural Development Programme, not the economic.
But I've just had one from Finland that could fit with what some people in Worcestershire could be doing. So have a look at the document on the link to the left. Who knows, you could be having a trip to Finland!

Just waiting for written confirmation

The strategy and business plan has been approved at AWMs Investment Decisions Group. We are just waiting for written confirmation of this. A contract is likely to take a couple more weeks

Getting ready

I've just put a link to the draft Expression of Interest form and the guidance notes. We're waiting to hear whether the bid is successful, but so as everyone can "hit the ground running" there is no reason why potential projects could n't be looking at the draft documentation now.
